About The Event
The practice of creating mandalas has existed for centuries. It can be found in Buddhism, Hinduism, Christianity and even Mayan and Aztec traditions. It has been used as a tool for spiritual guidance, a means of focusing during meditation. Carl Jung, the father of modern psychology, recognised that the urge to make mandalas emerges during times of intense personal growth. It can be a means to give form to and understand the unconscious. Mandalas can also be seen to represent a cosmic diagram that shows us our relation to the infinite.
During this workshop we will be exploring our inner and outer world with the use of the ‘flower of life’ symbol as a blueprint to our journey. You will be using compass and pencil along with mixed media on paper.
